Footings are dug below the frost line, framing follows Ontario Building Code span tables, and decking is fastened tight and straight so it stays that way.

Deck questions

How much does a deck cost?

It depends on size, height, decking material and railing. A ground-level pressure-treated deck costs far less than a raised or multi-level deck with composite. We give a detailed, free quote after seeing your yard.

Do I need a permit for a deck?

Often, yes. Decks attached to the house, or more than about 24 in (600 mm) off the ground, usually need a building permit in London, St. Thomas and the surrounding townships. We confirm with your municipality before we build.

Wood or composite decking?

Pressure-treated wood costs less up front and can be stained any colour, but needs re-staining every few years. Composite costs more but needs very little upkeep. Railings can mix materials, like wood posts with metal pickets.

How long does a deck take to build?

Most residential decks take a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on size, levels, stairs and railing. You get a timeline with your quote.
